Senior Day at Cal State Fullerton Launches Guaranteed Admission Program

September 23, 2008

Dear Students and Families:

As a senior in the Anaheim Union High School District, you are invited to participate in an outstanding program that will help pave the way to a college education.

The program is called “The Collaborative for Higher Education.” It is a partnership with California State University, Fullerton, which guarantees admission to AUHSD students who meet certain requirements.

Cal State Fullerton has set aside a day for you and your families to begin familiarizing yourselves with the campus and its programs and even begin your application online. Senior Day at Cal State Fullerton will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, October 18, 2008, at the Steven G. Mihaylo College of Business and Economics building. Events will include:

  • Walking tours
  • Workshops
  • Informational Fairs
  • Introductions to Academic Departments

To confirm your attendance at Senior Day, please take a moment now to send an email to collaborative@auhsd.us that includes your name, student identification number, and the total number of family members who will be attending. This will help the organizers in planning for the event and allow us to email you with any additional information. Free parking is available during Senior Day.

Through The Collaborative for Higher Education, the Anaheim Union High School District is reaffirming its commitment to preparing students for their educational future. You are automatically eligible for the program if you:

  • Meet all California State University “A through G” course requirements by the end of your senior year with a grade of C or better in each course.
  • Take the SAT or ACT college-entrance exams by December of your senior year.
  • Pass the California State University system’s entry-level math and English placement tests by May 1 of your senior year.

We hope you will take advantage of this wonderful opportunity.

Sincerely,

Joseph M. Farley, Ed.D.
Superintendent
